How do I access my 3X4 Genetics results?
You can view your results anytime through the 3X4 Health app. Once you’ve logged in, you’ll find an interactive and easy-to-navigate dashboard that breaks down your genetic insights in a way that’s simple to understand.
If you haven’t downloaded the app yet, you can find it in the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). After logging in with the details provided when your test was processed, your results will be ready and waiting for you.
Can I download my results as a PDF?
Yes. Once your results are unlocked in the 3X4 Health app, you can download a tailored PDF report of your full results, your name on the cover, all 35 pathways across 10 health categories, your gene-level detail, and your 3X4 Health recommendations. It's yours to keep, print, or share with your practitioner.
To download it, open the app and go to My 3X4 → My Report. Every download is confirmed with Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode, so only you can access it.
Why should I take a genetic test?
Genetics make up the baseline “code” by which your body functions. The impact of every single choice you make throughout your life is influenced by your personal genetic makeup. We test the most scientifically relevant genes that can affect your metabolism, inflammation, detoxification, fitness, weight, hormones, cognition, and response to your diet, and supplements. By understanding how your unique genetics impact these key processes, you can make smarter, more tailored decisions about your health. There may even be insights you never imagined (like whether that second cup of coffee is a good idea).

Do I have to see a practitioner to use the 3X4 Genetics Test?
You do not need to see a 3X4 Practitioner to receive your report, but when your genetics insights are combined with your medical history, unique lifestyle, diet preferences, and exercise choices, a full picture starts to emerge. If you are looking for a detailed action plan, our practitioner partners are ready to guide your next steps.
Is the 3X4 Genetics Test eligible for HSA/FSA reimbursement?
Yes, it is eligible for HSA / FSA.
How can I use my HSA/FSA debit card?
You would use it in the same way you would use a credit card when paying, simply enter the needed card info. If this does not work, simply pay for the test with your normal credit card, download the invoice/receipt and submit that for reimbursement.
Will I be able to claim retrospectively as well?
HSA: As long as the HSA was established before you bought the 3X4 Genetics Test, HSA can be used to reimburse that expense years later.
FSA: You can claim retrospectively as long as it falls within the current fiscal year.
I bought my test via my practitioner – can I still claim?
Most definitely. Simply ask for an itemized invoice from your practitioner where you can see the 3X4 Genetics Test listed and the amount. Submit that claim for reimbursement.
How were the genes for this test selected?
Every gene has been selected based on 2 factors: scientific validity and actionability. The genes in the 3X4 Genetics Test were selected from peer-reviewed scientific publications. To ascertain scientific validity, we ensure that there is adequate research to understand what the gene does and how the version of the gene you possess affects your body. Every gene in your report has been hand-picked because there are documented actions that can be taken to mitigate genetic impact/predisposition and improve health.
How long does it take to get my results back?
After sending in your genetic sample, results take 2-3 weeks to process.
What do you do with the DNA sample once it is processed?
Our partner lab securely retains your sample until we are sure we have complete and accurate results to produce a report.
The sample is destroyed after we have received your results.
How is the DNA sample collected? Does it hurt?
Our test kit is a simple and pain-free cheek swab that you can complete at home. A thorough rub with a sterile swab on the inside of each cheek for 60 seconds is all it takes. No spitting or blood draw is required.
How secure is my data?
Data privacy is a top priority for us. We treat your personal information with the rigor and integrity it deserves, and our practices, procedures, policies, and technology are designed to safeguard your privacy and health data.

Can genetic data affect one’s ability to get insurance or employment?

While genetic discrimination is rare, it is both common and understandable to want to know what protections are in place around the use of this type of information. In the United States, the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act, or GINA, protects all Americans from discrimination on the basis of genetic information when determining eligibility for employment and health insurance. It does not currently extend to life insurance, long-term care insurance, or disability insurance. State-level legislation varies and may provide additional protections.
