Our Scientific Approach Is Based On 3 Key Principles
Systems Approach
Our bodies are complex. 3X4 looks at how our genes work together in cellular pathways and functional systems to control processes such as inflammation, metabolism, and detoxification.
Going Upstream
Traditionally, we have spent far too much time focusing on trying to fix symptoms. At 3X4, we want to change this by understanding what’s happening at a deep cellular level so we can prevent, delay, or reverse disease.
Sustainable Change
We believe that health is not a static condition, but a daily choice. Using our Blueprint and the guidance of an expert practitioner you can gain a deeper understanding of your body and the daily choices you need to make.
Your genes don’t work in isolation – they work with each other and the body’s environment. What we eat, how we move, our stress levels, and our emotional lives affect how our genes behave. Understanding our individual genetic blueprint can guide us to make health choices that help us to live happier, longer, and better.
The science behind 3X4 is based on extensive research, combined with clinical practice to ensure that every recommendation we make is both scientifically accurate and proven to work in clinical practice.
Meet Our Advisors
Jeff is arguably a pioneer of modern medicine, defining functional medicine as we know it today. For over 35 years, he has guided the evolution of functional nutrition and medicine, authored 11 books on the subject and is the principal author of over 120 peer-reviewed scientific articles. Jeff has been the CEO of HealthComm International, the Chief Science Officer for Metagenics, as well as the president of MetaProteomics where he led a team of over 100 research scientists. But one of his greatest contributions is his deep understanding of the intersection between healthcare practitioners and the consumer. This is reflected in his current work, the Professional Lifestyle Medicine Institute, which furthers the education of practitioners, and his new startup, bringing Big Bold Health to healthcare conscious consumers globally.
Myles is considered to be the foremost expert in Men’s Health in the USA, working as a consultant to the NBA and many top-performing athletes. In his earlier life, Myles worked as a humanitarian doctor for Medecins sans Frontieres/Doctors without Borders, which triggered his appreciation for the role of health in each person’s ability to achieve their goals. This intrinsic drive to uplift the health of the underserved led Myles to receive the Bravewell Award for Leadership in Integrative Medicine in 2013. He directs the Integrative Medicine program at the Men’s Health Foundation in Los Angeles and at the Simms-Mann Health and Wellness Center at Venice Family Clinic. He is also the author of "Integrative Men’s Health", and his most recent book, "Optimal Men’s Health".
Helen brings a rare combination of skills to the SAB. In addition to being a medical doctor, she has a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in Genetics and a PhD in Molecular Immunology. She founded a series of national concierge practices, served as medical director (genomics) at the Human Longevity Institute, and was Chief Medical Officer of Viome. Helen’s focus is in closing the translational gap using a data-driven healthcare model. This real time translation of precision medicine integrates multi-omics technologies and applies them directly in clinical care, allowing patients with complex chronic disease to actively benefit from innovative biomedical technologies. This is evident in her current work at Altum Medical, a deep-dive medical care centre, and founding Medical Intelligence Learning Labs Inc, a company that is creating a platform to enable every doctor to be “the best” doctor, by capturing the clinical wisdom from every medical encounter so it can be accessed by the larger medical community.
Christine holds a PhD in Nutrigenomics and a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Queensland, Australia. She is a registered Nutritionist as well as an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Queensland. After practicing nutritional medicine for 3 decades, Christine focused on utilising her extensive clinical experience to research, develop, and teach other clinicians. In addition to her scientific and lay publications, she authored “Switched On – Harnessing the Power of Nutrigenomics to Optimise Health”, and is the co-author of two courses in nutrigenomics for practicing clinicians.
Author, educator, and clinical nutritionist, Kathie integrates the best of nutritional science and mind body modalities. Kathie graduated from Arizona State University with a Master of Science in Nutrition and expanded her conventional dietetics background with extensive training in functional medicine. She is the co-founder of the Integrative and Functional Nutrition Academy, an online functional nutrition training program for healthcare professionals. Kathie also directs the Center for Mind Body Medicine’s highly acclaimed Food as Medicine program. She pioneered innovative functional nutrition programs at Canyon Ranch Health Resorts, Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, and The UltraWellness Center, and continues to consult at all three organizations today.
