About 3X4 Genetics - for Practitioners

3X4 Genetics is a health technology company using cutting-edge genetic testing and nutrigenomic education to empower people to make better everyday choices. With the support of our global network of trusted practitioners, we’re here to help practitioners and their clients live a longer, healthier, and happier life.

Here are a few key factors that distinguishes 3X4 from other genetic testing companies:

Advanced Patented Technology & Pathway Based Approach

  • 3X4’s patented Darwin methodology determines the impact of individual gene variants on multiple pathways. The genes in the 3X4 report are carefully selected based on both scientific validity and clinical utility.
  • These pathway-based weighted polygenic risk scores determine the impact of genes on 36 metabolic areas or pathways. The calculated scores show us the level of impact for each pathway, from low to very high.
  • The 3X4 Blueprint report provides personalized diet, lifestyle and supplement recommendations for each pathway.

User Friendly Report

  • 3X4 provides an illustrated PDF report that practitioners can share with their clients. The 3X4 report uses the language of color and personalized visuals to improve the client’s engagement with their genetic results.

The Industry-Leading 3X4 Community

  • Join the award-winning and fastest-growing practitioner community in the USA, where you can access top nutrigenomics courses (for all levels), network with over 5,000 like-minded healthcare professionals from across the globe, and receive extensive support for your practice from sessions with expert mentors, and access to the 3X4 Clinical Guide.

3X4 Clinical Guide

  • The invaluable 3X4 Clinical Guide has detailed information for every SNP, metabolic area and pathway in the 3X4 Blueprint report, along with linked population frequencies, and diet, lifestyle, supplement and functional test pairing recommendations. You can search by SNP, metabolic area, pathway, supplement, condition, food items, and more.

Here are some answers to other frequently asked questions which you may find helpful.

How does 3X4 ensure the privacy / security of my DNA samples?

The 3X4 DNA Sample Kit uses a unique kit code to identify your sample so that it cannot be linked to you if it was intercepted on the way to the lab, or at the lab.

After your DNA sample is processed at the lab, it is stored for 90 days, in case additional processing is needed. After 90 days, the lab will automatically destroy your DNA sample.

How does 3X4 use my data? Does 3X4 sell my data to third parties?

3X4 Genetics does not sell your data to any third parties.

3X4 may use your data to conduct research in order to improve our products and services, however for this usage, your data is de-identified so that even if this data was accessed, it cannot be linked back to you personally.

Please feel free to review our Privacy Policy, and if you have any other questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out!

FAQs | 3X4 Blueprint - The Test

Can children do a 3X4 test (kids under age 18)

Children may do a 3X4 Genetic Test with the permission from their parents or guardians. Please refer to our Terms of Service for more information.

Does 3X4 Genetics Test for High Penetrance SNPs/genes? e.g. BRCA/BRACA

3X4 Genetics does not test for high penetrance genes, such as BRCA1 or BRCA2.  When a gene is classified as “high penetrance”, this means a link has been established between specific gene variants and a disease state—in this case, an increased risk of breast cancer. The expression of high penetrance genes is generally not influenced by dietary or lifestyle changes.

At 3X4, our focus is on low penetrance gene variants, where the expression of the gene can be influenced by diet, exercise, and supplementation. This approach allows us to provide actionable insights that empower individuals to make lifestyle choices that support their genetic potential.

Please let us know if we can provide any more information or if you have any other questions.

Is 3X4’s [Third-Party] Lab CLIA certified?

Yes, the lab that 3X4 Genetics uses is CLIA certified

FAQs | DNA Sample Collection Kit

Is My DNA Sample Stable at Room Temperature?

Your sample collection vial (the plastic tube) is stable at room temperature and best kept in a cool, dark place. We recommend to limiting exposure to warm temperatures and not store in direct sunlight, however we’ve successfully process many samples that have been exposed to hot, summer conditions.

Frozen Sample Collection Vial?

It is not a problem if the sample collection vial freezes, whether it's before you receive it or after you ship it back. However, the liquid will need to be defrosted before you can use it to collect your sample.

FAQs | 3X4 Blueprint - The Report

What is the 3X4 Interactive Blueprint, and How Does it Differ From the PDF Version?

The 3X4 Interactive Blueprint integrates the 3X4 Clinical Guide into each report, providing fast, at-your-fingertips information in one interface. This reduces treatment plan prep time while offering practitioners deeper insights into their clients’ genetic results.

The Interactive Blueprint gives practitioners flexible tools for browsing, selecting, sorting, filtering, and expanding client genetic results. Its interactive design allows you to explore the connections between impacts, pathways, and genes. Plus, each pathway and gene variant links directly to our Clinical Guide. Feel free to explore the interactive elements at the following link:

3X4 Interactive Blueprint – Sample Report

Compared to the PDF version, the 3X4 Interactive Blueprint is a more powerful tool for analyzing client results. It provides quick access to summaries of each pathway and gene, along with convenient links to our Clinical Guide for further details.

Additionally, while the interactive version mirrors the PDF report, it also includes clinical information not found in the PDF, such as:

  • Descriptions for each impactful gene variant. For example, for the GA genotype result for COMT Val158Met G>A: “COMT is an important enzyme in phase II detoxification, where it helps with the conjugation and degradation of catecholamines. The GA genotype of COMT is associated with decreased enzyme activity per allele.”
  • Recommendations for a wider range of pathways, not just the top three.

Because of its intuitive design and the readily available gene and pathway information, we believe you’ll find the 3X4 Interactive Blueprint to be a valuable and time-saving tool.

Support | Trouble Printing PDF

We are so sorry to hear that you're having trouble printing your 3X4 Blueprint report. Unfortunately these issues do seem to depend on the printer. Here are some suggestions on what you can try to get this resolved:

If your 3X4 Blueprint is printing with a dark background, please try the following:

(1) Increase the contrast on your document / printing settings to make the grey text appear darker

and/or

(2) Print one report page over 2x A4 pages instead of 1x.

If your 3X4 Blueprint is printing with font that is too light, check that your Printer’s drivers are up to date. If they are not, update them and try printing that page again.

For either of these issues: Try opening the PDF in a different application (e.g. Adobe Reader instead of the Apple Preview) and printing from there.

We do hope these tips are helpful!
